The need for Tidbit #3 arose when Big Girl informed me that her American Girl doll's hair needed help. I can't remember who told me to look this up. At any rate, I consulted Dr. Google and landed at Doll Diaries. We purchased our supplies and gave this DIY solution to wild hair a whirl.
and very bushy!!
We mixed 2 tablespoons of fabric softener with water in a spray bottle and then Big Girl went to work on her hair, a section at a time. She used the brush that the AG doll company sells and it seemed to work better than the comb I was using for the 3 minutes I had the patience to bestow on Kirsten's behalf. After the treatment, we laid the doll on the washing machine with her hair hanging over the side to dry overnight.
The tamed, smooth and shiny after!
The ends are still rather frayed, but there is a marked improvement.
My child was happy, so that's what counts!
Don't we all wish we could leave the salon with great results?!
