Matchbox Christmas: Days 12-24

So it's 2013 and all of my Christmas decor has been down and stored since the 1st.   I am the type of person who likes to tie up my loose ends.  And I didn't finish posting about our matchboxes let alone any holiday pictures.  I'm going to try and be succinct and knock this out in two posts and move on with the new year!

Day 12: Make a craft.
I dreaded this day because I had to organize the craft,
and it just seemed like so much effort.
Thank goodness for Martha!

Day 13: Sing Carols
My kids seemed let down when they opened this one, but this was probably the most special night all season because when we were done singing, they all started asking deep theological and spiritual questions.  Worship just leads to a hunger for more of Him.  Even for kids.

Day 14: Buy gifts for Daddy.
This was cute.  The three pooled their money and I took them to the store to pick out a gift for Mr. YH.  They were so excited, and I was impressed all over again at how well they can keep a secret!

Day 15: Read Christmas stories from our basket.
Nothing better than snuggling up together and reading old favorites!

Day 16:  Play a game.
We played Christmas BINGO with M&Ms as the markers.
Is there any better way to play than that!?

Day 17: Wrap gifts.
I took each child into a room and let them wrap the gifts they had for each other and then put them under the tree.  It was so sweet to see them use their own money and pick out special gifts for one another!

Day 18: Open a gift from an aunt and uncle which happened to be a gift certificate to Toys R Us.  My sister-in-law got a groupon and it had to be used by a certain date, so off we went.  They picked out Apples to Apples Jr. and we've had a lot of fun playing it together.

Day 19: Do a puzzle together. {We still haven't finished it!}

Day 20: Make cookies and frost them.  Lest you think I'm Wonder Mom (on second thought, go ahead!), I bought the dough because I just had so much going on that I had no time to make it myself.

Day 21: Go to Wendy's and get a Frosty.

Day 22: Have Gingerbread Day.  {P.S.  Foam house was the limit for me this year and I bought this dough, too.}

Day 23: Drive through a local park that has tons of lighted displays.  We waited in line forever!  But it was a fun memory and next year we'll know to go earlier in the month on a school night to avoid the lines!

Day 24: Wrap each other up!
