The M&Ms Are Gone!

We said our final farewells today.

Our friend Lesya invited us to her place on the left bank and we walked around the canal and then she spoiled my kids rotten with ice cream, a torte I'd never tried before and was sad I only got my first taste of it today (there is a torte here that is gross, but this is a different company I hadn't heard of), and fresh apricots and sweet cherries.  And gifts.  She has been a faithful friend to us.

Yuri and Sveta came late this afternoon and loaded up a ton of stuff we were giving to them before we had one last dinner together.  The last time we moved from Ukraine we ate with them the night before we flew out, too.  I've held myself together through most of the farewells despite the fact that I can cry at the weddings of strangers when I'm hired to play, but the tears came tonight.  I have photos (not of me crying), but I already packed my camera in my carry-on and I'm not getting it out.  Later, I'll dump photos.

We're mostly packed.  I think we're hovering around the 44 lb. limit for each of the big bags, so we're shoving the leftovers in car seat bags...

We sure enjoyed the final M&M!!
