The Boy's Birthday Bash

2 months after the fact, I'm finally getting these up!

The Boy's party took place the day after his 5th birthday.
November 20, 2010

The favor bags had die-cast jets from Wal Mart,
these wooden plane kits, & some candy.

Making paper airplanes for the flight contest.

This gigantic foyer came in handy!

The Boy picked a target (Germany),
and whoever got the closest won the prize.

Dropping clothespin bombs.
The smaller the bucket, the more points they racked up.

I told you in this post
that these two just love each other!

And these two are big buddies, too!
(The older sisters were playing in the bedroom.)

Trying on Mr. YH's helmet.

Now, I have until the end of May until the next party rolls around!
And some little girl insists she is having a kitty-cat birthday!

Just Had to Tell You

I'm tickled pink!
After weeks (I could safely say months, too)
of gray skies,
we enjoyed blue skies ALL day,
sunshine,
and now I'm looking out at a gorgeous sunset!

P.S. But it's still REALLY cold!

Big Girl's BirthDAY Celebration

January 9, 2011

Our EIGHT year old!
(A ladybug pancake,
keeping with her party
theme from the day before-
see last post)

Reading her blessing from Daddy.

{After church.}
My sister in law sent that huge cupcake form to us for Christmas,
so I needed to use it because Big Girl was so excited.
{It's a tad overrated.}
And you can see that I will be asking
Sarah to bring birthday candles with her this May.

She was excited about this pizza- she really wanted it!

The morning of the party, Baby Girl told her daddy very matter of factly,
"Big Girl will share her birthday party."
Apparently, she expected presents to be shared, too!

Our Little Lady Turns 8

The Ladybug Birthday Party
January 8, 2011
(her "real" day is the 9th)

My two bugs!
(notice the little one still has her two front teeth!)

We took photos with each guest to put in the frames they'd make.

Ladybug Bingo
(with M&M's as markers)

Writing down their guesses as to how many
M&M's and Jr. Mints were in the jar.

Can you see the girls jumping up and down in the background?!
This game got them so excited!

Each team had two dots.
They had to stand on one dot,
place the other in front, step on it,
and then reach behind and get the other dot.

All the way around the stool and then they could run back to their team.

The little ladies.

Pin the bug on the flower.

The girls decorated these little wooden picture frames.

Pizza for lunch.

Reading each one's guess as to the number of candies in the jar.

The big reveal!

Musical dots-
when a girl "lost, " she reported to the birthday girl for her party favor.
