A Dollar Here, A Dollar There

Look what I found on the Target dollar rack!
I bought two packages and we don’t even have a pool.

But I do have children who love a good old-fashioned birthday party- complete with games. I had purchased these flower-shaped wooden coat hangers at Hobby Lobby and painted them for a game at the 2008 Hello Kitty party, but couldn’t find these rings in the months leading up to the party, so we made our own out of heavy rope.

I recycled the game for the flower themed party this past January and still hadn’t found any rings, but I’m now ready for future ring tossing events at Yellow Hat parties!

Michael’s has expanded their dollar rack to an entire aisle here- is that the case around the country? I found this foam kneeling pad for $1 and appreciate the extra comfort when giving the kids baths.

What dollar bargains have you found lately?

  1. The $1 aisle at Target is awesome. Just this weekend we bought up several packs of notecards, cute little pads of paper and colorful pens for my husband's "secret pal" at work. They also had tons of those reuseable bags, so I got one to use as a gift bag. It turned out cute and was less than $10 for a nice variety of things. Love it!

  2. LOVE the dollar stuff at Target. Our Dollar General just started carrying birthday cups, plates, forks, streamers etc. I've always bought gift bags there, but the bday plates are great! I picked up some cute pink ones for my niece's party. I haven't been to Michael's in a long time, but I'll have to check. . .

  3. Did you see the 3-pack American flags for $1? Got a couple of those to go with the Uncle Sam tassel for the cloche party this Friday.

Nice ideas and the pictures are so precious!

Thanks again for such kind words on my tablescape! Now you've really got me wanting to go to Italy with what you wrote about it. Sigh...one day. :)

I see a tablescape in your future with the new ebay pitcher. I warn you it's addictive. LOL!

    ~Blessings to you.
Thanks for all the sweet emails lately.
You are a very kind person. ~Melissa :)
